I got into training my dogs as a teenager in the late 80’s with my Irish Wolfhound “Kerry” who I started showing, and then my Boxer “Cass”, who didn’t have a very good recall, so we started training classes, and I have been training dogs ever since.
I started training my Wire-Haired Vizsla “Gunner” at HDDTS in 2003, then became a dog trainer in 2005. I passed the PDTI Instructors Certificate in 2007. I am a Kennel Club GCDS Assessor for both Bronze (passed 24/04/05) and Silver (passed 29/07/05) tests. I qualified as Instructor with British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers BIPDT in 2009.
I enjoy expanding my knowledge in all things canine and have attended many training days and workshops.
I am passionate about scent work, especially with my dog Murphy. We currently spend many weekends outdoors doing HPR gundog training, which he absolutely adores.
There is no better feeling than seeing new handlers building a relationship with their dogs through learning with reward-based training, and also delight in enthusiastic dogs who love to use their noses and play with their owners.
I continue to educate myself, and I am proud of the friendships I have made through dogs.
