Biography
After growing up with our Collie Sadie I have always had a love for dogs, when the timing was right and we were able to have a dog we picked up Poppy our Pomeranian. I started training with Poppy at HDDTS in July 2016 when Poppy was 5 months old and I was hooked. I loved the classes, it was great socially too and have gained many great friends through the club.
After training Poppy at the club for 4 years I was asked to join the Committee as the membership secutary and was tasked with organising the beginners intake. This included liaising with new joiners to check they have filled in the relevant paperwork and assigning them a spot on the waiting list and then updating them with start dates which kept me very busy.
A year later I was asked to become a trainer which I didn’t hesitate in accepting! I have now passed my IMDT qualification. I love assisting people with their training and find it so rewarding seeing how dogs and their owners progress through the weeks. Having shadowed the other trainers and gone through the various training sessions I have now had the pleasure of training a number of intakes to the club within all class levels.
